## Israel Supreme Court Issues Interim Order Halting Expulsion of Aid Agencies from Gaza
An interim order from the Supreme Court of Israel has temporarily stopped a ban on international humanitarian organisations providing aid and healthcare in Gaza. Israel previously informed 37 aid agencies that they would be forced to leave Gaza by 1 March 2026 if they refused to comply with new regulations, specifically the requirement to share staff details. More than 1700 healthcare staff have been killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023 and charities said they feared their staff would be targeted if their information was shared. However, after being petitioned by several organisations—including the Norwegian Refugee Council and Oxfam—Israel’s supreme court has now paused the move until a final ruling is decided. Oxfam’s policy lead, Bushra Khalidi, said, “We are grateful that our request for an interim order has been agreed. Although this news is positive, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical and we don’t yet know what effect this ruling will have.” The court order allows the agencies to remain but suspends the entry of new staff and supplies, creating a precarious operational limbo for critical humanitarian work.
