## Bitcoin Crashes Below $65,000 as Trump 15% Global Tariffs Trigger $2 Trillion Crypto Wipeout
Oh great, here we go again. Just when crypto bulls were finally breathing easy, Trump decides to flex his tariff muscles and send Bitcoin on another joyride downward. The guy literally announced plans for 15% global tariffs and Bitcoin responded by dumping as much as 5% to below $65,000. Classic.

As a fresh graduate watching this whole crypto circus from the sidelines—because obviously I cannot afford to invest anyway—it is honestly hilarious seeing how completely irrational this market reacts to political news. The Supreme Court literally ruled these tariffs illegal, and yet the damage was already done. More than $2 trillion in crypto market value gone. Poof. Just like that.

Ethereum did not fare any better, sliding 5.53% to around $1,862. And the worst part? The article I read mentioned this is Bitcoin worst monthly performance since June 2022. That is the crypto winter everyone keeps warning about, and here we are, apparently walking right back into it.

What is particularly frustrating from a young person perspective is how easily the market gets manipulated. One tweet about tariffs and billions disappear. Meanwhile, the people who actually understand what is happening—traders with deep pockets—probably made a killing shorting the market while the rest of us just watch our portfolios bleed.

The timing is especially brutal because Bitcoin was sitting pretty at $126K back in October 2025. Now look at it. And the crazy thing is, even after this massive correction, crypto is still considered a risk asset that gets dumped whenever there is any economic uncertainty. So much for being a hedge against inflation. At this point, I am just waiting for the next rally so I can finally get in and immediately lose money like everyone else. Yay.
